Tennessee passes 10,000 COVID-19 cases, death toll at 188

The Tennessee Department of Health on Tuesday reported 134 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total to 10,052 since tracking began in March.
The state also reported totals of 188 deaths for an increase of four; 894 hospitalizations for an increase of 54; and 4,921 recoveries for an increase of 201.
Labs in the state had conducted a total of 161,926 tests, an increase of 7,526 over Monday’s aggregate.
In Northeast Tennessee, health departments listed a total of 189 cases, up two from Monday’s total: Carter, 12; Greene, 42; Hancock, 0; Hawkins, 30; Johnson,3; Sullivan, 47; Unicoi, 1; and Washington, 54. New cases were reported in Greene and Hawkins counties.
