CHURCH HILL — The ratio was perfect for each child participating in the annual Church Hill Trout Rodeo to pull out at least three “eating size” fish from Alexander Creek Saturday morning.

The creek was dammed in sections for the annual event and stocked with 460 fish — mostly trout — between 8-12 inches in length.

By the time the whistle blew 8:30 a.m. to begin the rodeo there were 145 youngsters registered to participate.

The Church Hill VFW provided several bicycles to give away as prizes, and there were also prizes and awards in a variety of categories and age groups including first catch, biggest fish, fastest to their limit of three, and most overall weight.
